JCP Chair Shii talks with CPV Politburo member Rua

November 11, 2010
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on November 10 talked with To Huy Rua, Politburo member and Central Theoretical Council chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam at the JCP head office.

Shii expressed his delight at the successful theoretical exchange meeting between the JCP and CPV, as well as his hope for the theoretical exchange to be further promoted as a long-term project.

Rua said that the theoretical exchange meeting was particularly relevant to the CPV with the party congress being just two months away.

Shii, recalling that he and CPV General Secretary Nong Duc Manh three years ago agreed on cooperation for peace in Asia and the rest of the world, referred to his talks with the Vietnamese government representatives in New York in May when he attended the 2010 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference, as well as Vietnamese participation in the World Conference against A and H Bombs every year. He said that he hopes that the relations of cooperation on issues of peace develop further.

Rua said that every nation should work for world peace, especially the elimination of nuclear weapons. It is an earnest wish of the Vietnamese people who fought the protracted struggle for independence and liberation of the country.
