August 29, 2008
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on August 28 met with Venezuelan Ambassador to Japan Seiko Luis Ishikawa Kobayashi in Tokyo and discussed the political and social situations of the two countries, including Venezuela’s local elections and Japanese political developments.

The ambassador stated his impression of the 2008 World Conference against A & H Bombs in Hiroshima, which he attended.

He also spoke about Venezuela’s sports development programs as well as efforts to provide children of needy families with opportunities to participate in cultural and educational development.

Ogata said the increase in public participation in cultural programs is a product of change taking place in Venezuela.

He also spoke about difficulties confronting Japanese youth and the limits of capitalism that are evident in Japan.
