Shii gives farewell to Chinese ambassador

January 19, 2010
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on January 18 met with outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Japan Cui Tian Kai at the JCP head office to say farewell.

Shii thanked Cui for his efforts to promote relations between the JCP and the Communist Party of China along with the development of Japan-China bilateral relations.

The ambassador said that he certainly made efforts to improve and develop the relationship with Japan during his 28 months in office and that he learned a lot from and appreciated the JCP committing itself to the advance of relations between the two countries.

Shii expressed hope that Cui will play an active role in his new post after returning home and that cooperation between the JCP and the CPC will further increase in the effort to abolish nuclear weapons and tackle global warming.
