Shii congratulates new Venezuelan president

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on April 18 sent a congratulatory message to Nicolas Maduro who won the Venezuelan presidential election.

The message is as follows:

I congratulate you on your election as President of Venezuela.

I hope that your government will respond to public expectations for politics focusing on improvement of people’s living conditions and further develop projects initiated by former President Chavez while opposing the moves in favor of neo-liberalism.

Shii sends telegram of sympathy to Chinese president

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on April 22 in a telegram message to Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his sympathy for the victims of the recent massive quake in the Chinese province of Sichuan.

The message is as follows:

I extend my heartfelt sympathy to the Chinese government and its people at the news of the recent earthquake in Sichuan Province that claimed many lives and caused serious damage.

I hope that the disaster victims can rebuild their lives as early as possible through relief and reconstruction efforts in the disaster-hit areas.
