JCP will send delegation to ICAPP in Sri Lanka

September 12, 2014
The Japanese Communist Party on September 12 announced that it will send a delegation headed by JCP Chair Shii Kazuo to the 8th International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) to be held September 18-September 21 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The ICAPP is a forum for various political parties in Asian countries to participate in, irrespective of whether they are governing or opposition parties.

Shii will talk on the issue of cooperation for peace in Northeast Asia as well as the challenge of abolishing nuclear weapons in line with the conference theme, “Building an Asian Community”. The delegation plans to hold opinion exchanges with various political party representatives.

The JCP has, since its first attendance at the 2nd meeting in Thailand in 2002, sent a delegation to the ICAPP. Shii took part in the ICAPP meeting in South Korea in 2006, Kazakhstan in 2009, and Cambodia in 2010.
