LGBT community asks for JCP cooperation to create a society based on sexual equality

December 9, 2014
LGBT rights activists and their supporters on December 7 held talks with Japanese Communist Party candidate for Lower House Ikeuchi Saori and asked for JCP cooperation to create a society where people fully accept each other’s sexual orientation or gender identity.

LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.

They handed to Ikeuchi a written request for JCP efforts to realize their demands, such as introducing LGBT issues in classrooms.

The JCP in its general election manifesto pledges to protect the sexual rights and improve the social status of the LGBT community.
