Ogata meets with FSLN founder

July 24, 2009
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair and JCP International Bureau Head Ogata Yasuo on July 20 met in Managua with Tomas Borje, ex-interior minister of the Nicaraguan government and currently Nicaraguan ambassador to Peru.

Borje is one of the founders of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN).

Ogata recalled that when he was still an Akahata reporter, he visited Nicaragua and interviewed Borje in 1980.

Borje thanked Ogata for his participation in the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution and for JCP’s longstanding solidarity.
