US serviceman arrested for drunk driving in Okinawa

September 27, 2016

The Okinawa Police on September 21 arrested a serviceman stationed at the U.S. Kadena Air Base on suspicion of drunk driving.

The man is 22-year-old Private First Class Jonathan David. When he was driving a car at a breakneck speed in Okinawa’s Chatan Town at around 2:45 a.m. on September 21, he was ordered by a local patrol officer to stop the car. The police allegedly detected alcohol twice the legal limit in his breath.

The suspect is reportedly denying the charges, claiming that he did not touch a drop of alcohol that day.
