Paper cranes, the symbol of peace, sent from Hibakusha to Fukushima nuclear sufferers

Fukushima's Naraha Town Mayor (left) on June 27 received paper cranes, the symbol of peace, from a representative of the largest antinuke group in Japan (right).

Representatives of the Japan Council against A and H Bombs (Japan Gensuikyo) and peace marchers walking toward Hiroshima visited the 2011 nuclear accident-hit towns of Namie, Tomioka, Naraha, and Hirono in Fukushima Pref. They presented the paper cranes that atomic bomb survivors (Hibakusha) had folded to express their solidarity with Fukushima sufferers.
