Drunken U.S. Marine steals a car
In Okinawa, a U.S. Marine has been held in custody by the U.S. Forces on suspicion of car theft, Akahata on April 7 reported.
Police said that at around 2:30 a.m. on March 31 a petty officer of the U.S. Marine Corps, after drinking stole a car parked in front of a store on the way back to his camp. He admitted that he stole the car rather than wait for a taxi.
At the gate to U.S. Camp Zukeran in Chatan Town, he was stopped by the security guard who noted that the car had the shop's name painted on the car body.
Urasoe Police is to report the case to the Naha District Public Prosecutor Office. (end)
