U.S. Marine commits another hit-and-run
A U.S. Marine driving on a national road in Okinawa crashed into a motorbike and fled the scene, police announced on April 11.
The accident left an 18-year-old rider unconscious in critical condition.
Police said that 36-year-old Chief Warrant Officer W2 George Vangelas who is assigned to Camp Zukeran of the U.S. Marine Corps, collided with the motorcycle at around 10:30 p.m. on April 9 in Chatan Town. The Marine was quoted as saying that he drove off because he was scared.
Police will send its report to the Naha District Public Prosecutors Office. (end)
