Kobayashi Eizo

Kobayashi Eizo, Japanese Communist Party official of honor, died on August 19 at Yoyogi Hospital in Tokyo. He was 73. He had been receiving treatment for lung cancer.

Kobayashi, who joined the JCP in 1946, served as JCP Central Committee member between 1973 and 2000. He was elected Executive Committee member in 1976 and Standing Executive Committee member in 1977. (end)
