Cabinet counselor demoted for using government computer for stock dealings
The government announced on January 22 that a cabinet counselor working at the Cabinet Information Research Office was demoted for having dealt with stock dealings using a computer at the prime minister's official residence.
As the reason for the counselor's demotion, the Office said that he repeatedly failed to concentrate on his duties as a government employee and damaged the government's credibility.
Akahata on January 11 exposed the story that stock information and dealing reports were sent from a computer in the prime minister's official residence. (end)
