JCP Shii: Discussion of budget should follow fraud investigation
The three ruling parties have reneged on their promise to respond to the four opposition parties' request for summoning Liberal Democratic Party Dietmember Suzuki Muneo to the Diet as a sworn witness.
The opposition parties criticized the ruling parties for undermining the condition to start discussing the draft budget issue.
Japanese Communist Party Executive Committee Chair Shii Kazuo at a press conference said that the question is whether the government and the Foreign Ministry are qualified to execute the national budget in the light of the allegation about Suzuki's fraud in using the national budget.
And therefore, he said, parliamentary discussions on the budget is only possible after all the facts about the allegation are made clear. (end)
