Opposition parties demand for Suzuki to resign
The four opposition parties on March 12 jointly submitted a draft resolution to the House of Representatives demanding that Liberal Democratic Party Suzuki Muneo resign from the Diet.
The Japanese Communist Party, Democratic Party of Japan, Liberal Party, and Social Democratic Party criticized the LDP lawmaker for adding to political distrust among the people by the abuse of government-funded projects in Japan and abroad, including aid for the Russian-held northern islands. The opposition parties also want Suzuki to apologize to the people and take political and moral responsibility for his wrongdoing. (end)
