Lower House unanimous in calling for cease-fire of Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Japan's House of Representatives on April 11 adopted a unanimous resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire between Israeli forces and Palestinians.

It demanded that the Israeli government swiftly halt incursions and withdraw troops from Palestinian-controlled towns, and urged both sides to resume talks.

The resolution also requested that the U.S. government mediate the dispute based on U.N resolutions. (end)
