JCP Ogata meets with Malaysian Minister
Japanese Communist Party International Bureau Director and House of Councilors member Ogata Yasuo on July 4 met with Ibrahim Abdullah, Malaysian minister and deputy chief mission, at the Malaysian Embassy in Japan.
Referring to his attendance at the Asia-Pacific Round Table last month in Kuala Lumpur and his meeting with the Malaysian Foreign Ministry official, who is in charge of non-aligned movements, Ogata expressed his appreciation for his beneficial trip to Malaysia.
Ogata also stated that he is happy that the JCP and the Malaysian government and congress people has been developing further relations, especially in the area of peace movements against nuclear weapons since the JCP delegation visited Malaysia in 1999.
The minister explained Malaysian foreign policies which are based on non-alignment and neutrality as well as domestic policies. Both agreed that they will develop their cooperation to work for prosperity and peace in Asia. (end)
