1,400 women hand down a nuclear-free world
About 1,500 women from Japan and abroad on August 5 gathered in the 2002 Women's Meeting in Hiroshima City to hand down a nuclear-free world for their children.
On behalf of the organizers, Ejiri Mihoko, former president of Japan YWCA, called on the women to prevent the use of nuclear weapons, which are capable of destroying the earth.
Victims of nuclear weapons tests abroad and people who struggle against crimes caused by U.S. military bases in the world reported on their activities and situations. (end)
