Fuwa visits China
Fuwa Tetsuzo, Japanese Communist Party Central Committee chair, left Tokyo for a 5-day visit to China from August 26 at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
At Narita Airport, Fuwa said that he is looking forward to discussing with Jiang Zemin, CPC general secretary issues which Japan, China, and the world are facing.
In Beijing, Fuwa and Dai Bingguo, CPC International Department head actively exchanged opinions about relations between Japan, China, and the Korean Peninsula, the U.S. nuclear strategy, activities of non-aligned nations and Islamic countries, and the political and economic situation in Japan.
Fuwa was expected to hold meetings with CPC leaders, and give a lecture on "Lenin and the market economy" at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Fuwa is accompanied by JCP Acting Secretariat Head Fudesaka Hideyo, JCP International Bureau Director Ogata Yasuo, Vice-editorial officer of Akahata Shoji Shojiro, and staff member of JCP International Bureau Hayashi Shinsei. (end)
