JCP chair attends reception on North Korea's national foundation day

Shii Kazuo, Japanese Communist Party chair, attended a reception held in Tokyo on September 6 to celebrate the 54th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Depublic of Korea.

The reception was given by the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryun).

Arriving at the Chosen-kaikan (Korean Hall) after attending a meeting between the opposition party leaders and Prime Minister Koizumi Jun'ichiro, Shii greeted Chongryun Chairman Son Man Sul. He expressed hope that the September 17 talks between the Japanese and North Korean leaders will be successful. (end)
