JCP International Bureau head visits UAE Embassy
Ogata Yasuo, Japanese Communist Party International Bureau director and House of Councilors member, had talks on October 2 with Anwar Othman Barout, charge d'affairs of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Tokyo.
Ogata talked about international efforts for a peaceful solution of the problem about Iraq.
Barout said he appreciates Iraq's recent decision to unconditionally accept the U.N. inspection.
He stressed that governments of the UAE and other Arab nations are calling on world governments to support this Iraqi decision so that it can make a further step forward to peace.
Ogata and Barout exchanged opinions about the efforts of Japan and the UAE for a peaceful solution of Iraq's problem. They also discussed ways toward a stable development of the Middle East and the rest of the world. (end)
