Gensuikyo submits 34,000 signatures calling for non-use of nuclear weapons
The Japan Council against A and H Bombs (Japan Gensuikyo) on December 11 visited the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo and demanded the non-use of nuclear weapons in a possible military action against Iraq.
Gensuikyo representatives also submitted a written request endorsed with about 34,000 signatures in opposition to preemptive military strikes and use of nuclear weapons, nuclear arms development, tests and expansions, and calling for the abolition and a total ban on nuclear weapons. (end)
