Fuwa receives Chinese ambassador
Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo on December 12 received Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Dawei at JCP headquarters in Tokyo.
Wu briefed Fuwa about the recent Communist Party of China's 16th Congress decision on the future course of China and the generational changes that took place in the CPC leadership. He said that the achievement of the Chinese government's goals for each stage of social development is encouraging the Chinese people and helping to increase public trust in the CPC.
In explaining the present political situation by contrasting it with the situation in the 1970s, Fuwa said that Japan's political parties are being tested. "At the same time, the chance for the JCP to help develop the next phase is very great," he added.
In relation to the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Japan-China diplomatic ties in 2002 and the 25th anniversary of the Japan-China Peace and Friendship Treaty in 2003, Wu expressed appreciation for the JCP stance regarding Japan-China relations, including historical issues. (end)
