JCP Shii to visit India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan
A Japanese Communist Party delegation led by JCP Chair Shii Kazuo will visit India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan from December 15 to 25.
At a press conference on December 12, Shii said that the main purpose of the three-country tour is to start official exchanges with the governments of these South Asian countries.
Shii said that the three countries are all influential members of the non-aligned movement, and the JCP, which aims at cooperating and possibly converging in the future with the movement, wants to exchange opinions with them about world peace.
The schedule includes talks with representatives of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India, and the Communist Party of Sri Lanka, all of which the JCP has relations with.
On the planned visit to India's West Bengal where the Communist Party of India (M) is a government party, Shii said that the CPI-M has an independent tradition and has successfully governed West Bengal and Tripura States. Shii said that there will be a lot for the delegation to witness and learn about.
JCP International Bureau Director Ogata Yasuo and Vice Director Morihara Kimitoshi are among the delegation members. (end)
