Shii talks with Sri Lankan ambassador and Indian minister

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on March 3 was invited to the Sri Lankan ambassador's residence for a dinner meeting with Ambassador Karunatilaka Amunugama and Indian Minister Biren Nanda.

They stressed that the JCP delegation's tour of India and Sri Lanka late last year was significant for the JCP and the two countries to deepen their mutual relationship, and agreed that they will further develop relations with each other.

They also exchanged their views on the Iraq question. Responding to the two officials' questions, Shii explained the present situation of the economy, politics, and society in Japan. (end)
