Koizumi offers immediate support for U.S. attack on Iraq

Prime Minister Koizumi Jun'ichiro and Foreign Minister Kawaguchi Yoriko on March 17 confirmed Japan's support for U.S. attacks on Iraq, even without a new UNSC resolution.

In answer to a question asked by the press, Koizumi said UNSC Resolution 1441 gives the U.S. grounds for using force against Iraq. (end)
