Japan to send civilians to help U.S. reconstruct Iraq
Foreign Minister Kawaguchi Yoriko on April 18 announced that Japan will send 4 to 5 personnel to take part in the work of the U.S. Office of Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance (ORHA).
The government will dispatch government officials and private sector personnel to ORHA in April, the minister said at a press conference.
Kawaguchi stated that it is important for Japan to send a team to cooperate in Iraq's reconstruction in the early stages. (end)
