JCP team to visit Iraq

The Japanese Communist Party has announced that a JCP team that includes members of parliament will visit Iraq to look into damages from the Iraq war and learn of the needs for humanitarian assistance relating to the country's reconstruction.

The announcement was made at a news conference on June 13 by Ichida Tadayoshi, JCP Secretariat head.

The JCP team led by Ogata Yasuo, JCP International Bureau director and House of Council member, will include Akamine Seiken, JCP member of the House of Representatives, and Morihara Kimitoshi, JCP International Bureau deputy director. (end)
