JCP Ogata meets with Jordan Ambassador

Japanese Communist Party International Bureau Director Ogata Yasuo on July 15 visited Jordan's Ambassador Samir Issa Naouri at the Jordanian Embassy in Tokyo.

Ogata, who is also a House of Councilors member, led a JCP delegation visiting six Middle Eastern countries, including Jordan, last October.

During his visit to Iraq last June as a JCP study team member, Ogata received useful information from Fakhri Matalpah, Jordan's minister plenipotentiary in Baghdad, about Iraq's political situation as well as problems in its reconstruction.

At the Jordanian Embassy, the JCP member stated that he was very grateful for Matalpah's help.

Exchanging their opinions on Middle East peace, Naouri and Ogata agreed on the need for Iraq's reconstruction to be in the interests of the Iraqi people. (end)
