Youth organization to launch a new drive for jobless youth

In order to increase job opportunities for young people, the Democratic Youth League of Japan (DYLJ) will start a new signature campaign.

At a press conference on August 12, the DYLJ announced that it will launch a new signature campaign demanding that the government take measures to secure jobs for young people.

DYLJ Chair Himei Jiro stated that the scarcity of jobs for young people is the problem influencing all of Japanese society. He said that the DYLJ plans to collect several hundred thousand signatures by fall.

By carrying out this campaign, the DYLJ urges the government to take responsibility to provide young people with jobs and to set a rule for unstably-employed young people to be hired as full-time workers. (end)
