Political donations prepared for parties demanding consumption tax rate increase

The Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanren) will urge its member firms to provide donations for political parties calling for an increase in the consumption tax rate.

On September 25, Keidanren published a 10-point policy priority list, including corporate tax cuts and a consumption tax rate increase, as a guideline for its member corporations to assess political parties.

The list also calls for entry of joint stock companies into medical services, education, and agriculture as well as deregulation of labor standards. (end)
