JCP 10th CC Plenum held

The Japanese Communist Party held its 10th Central Committee Plenum from December 3-4 at the JCP head office.

JCP Executive Committee Chair Shii Kazuo gave the Executive Committee report (see separate item), and 39 members spoke.

JCP Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo stated that the party needs to review how to deal with campaigns in national elections, especially the House of Representatives election, based on party experiences during the past three general elections.

In the concluding remarks, Shii called on party members to rise in action throughout the country making full use of the appeal "Act now to stop the dispatch of Self-Defense Forces"; make preparations for the victory of the JCP in the House of Councilors election, especially in the proportional representation election; and work to make the JCP 23rd Congress a success.

The plenum unanimously adopted the Presidium report and Shii's concluding remarks, and confirmed Fuwa's proposal. Pledging to make efforts for a successful JCP Congress and upper house election, the JCP 10th CC Plenum adjourned. (end)
