JCP Fuwa meets with Tunisian ambassador

Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo on January 9 met with Tunisian Ambassador to Japan Salah Hannachi at the JCP head office in Tokyo.

Delivering New Year's greeting from Tunisian Foreign Minister Ben Yahia to Fuwa, Hannachi expressed his gratitude for Fuwa's visit to Tunisia last July to attend the Congress of the Constitutional Democratic Rally (CDR).

Fuwa thanked the CDR for sending a delegation to the 23rd Congress of the JCP which will open on January 13.

In answer to Hannachi's question regarding the ordinary Diet session opening later in January, Fuwa stated that Iraq will be a focal issue. He also explained the adverse effect the dispatch of Japan's Self-Defense Forces to Iraq may have on Arab countries. (end)
