Fuwa meets with Venezuelan ambassador
Venezuelan Ambassador to Japan Carlos Bivero Garcia visited Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo at the JCP head office on January 26.
Referring to a recent book written by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, which had been presented to him by the ambassador at the JCP 23rd Congress, Fuwa said that he was very impressed by political developments in Venezuela.
The ambassador said that his country has overcome the sabotage aimed at destroying the oil industry. He added that the opposition forces are obstructing the government efforts to improve people's living conditions, but there is an outlook for developing reform by overcoming those obstructions.
Fuwa said that he is paying attention to Latin America's effort to create independent foreign policies and carry out people-first changes in each country. He said that he wants to send an Akahata reporter to Venezuela to increase reporting on the region. The ambassador agreed to Fuwa's idea. (end)
