Children report on their representations at U.N.
Five teenagers held a gathering on March 13 in Tokyo to report on their representations last January to the U.N. Committee of the Rights of the Child concerning the condition of Japanese children.
Members of the Association to Send Children's Voices to the U.N., including junior high school, high school, and college students, had spent more than 2 years to prepare their reports to the U.N. committee in Geneva.
A high school student, who in Geneva had argued against corporal punishment at schools, said that through activities in the association, she has learned how to raise her voice against unjustifiable actions.
A 19-year old male, who had made a presentation on high school students' political activities, said, "We would like to continue to listen to others in our generation." (end)
