JCP proposes abolishing government share of burdens for Dietmembers' pension
The Japanese Communist Party has proposed the abolition of the state's share of burden for Dietmembers' pension premiums.
On March 10, JCP representative Kokuta Keiji submitted this proposal to the House of Representatives Parliamentary System Council.
The JCP proposal calls for the pension scheme to be based on the idea of mutual-aid as originally intended and for Dietmembers' pension to be paid from the premiums paid by them. The JCP says that is the best way to regain public trust on this issue.
Under the present system, 70 percent of Dietmembers' pension is paid by the government. (end)
