Message to the 14th Congress of the Popular Socialist Party

The Japanese Communist Party Central Committee expressed solidarity with Brazil's Popular Socialist Party (PPS) on the occasion of the 14th PPS National Congress held from March 26-28) in Sao Paulo.

Tanaka Yasuhiro, Akahata Foreign News editor, read the message at the opening session of the PPS Congress.

In the message the JCP expressed interest in the political trend emerging in Brazil and in many other Latin American countries, represented by "increasing popular opposition to the U.S.-imposed neo-liberal policy, which finds its expression in the establishment of new governments that give people's living conditions top priority and refusing to be dictated by the United States."
