JCP policies are the most popular among college students
In a mock election held by a group of college students in Kyoto, 29 percent of the total votes cast, the highest percentage, were in favor of Japanese Communist Party policies.
The poll was participated by 424 students from universities in Kyoto, who were asked to choose one from policies listed without making their party identification.
In the rating of party policies, the JCP was followed by the Democratic Party of Japan (22 percent), the Komei Party (21 percent), the Liberal Democratic Party (17 percent), and the Social Democratic Party (11 percent).
In a vote for a political party, 15 percent of the students chose the LDP, 12 percent the DPJ, 5 percent the Komei Party, 4 percent the JCP, 2 percent the SDP, and 62 percent "no party to support." (end)
