 Shii greets Finnish president Japanese Communist Party Executive Committee Chair Shii Kazuo greeted the President of Finland, Tarja Halonen, in a reception on October 21 at the Finnish embassy in Tokyo. The Finnish president was on an official visit to Japan. Shii said to Halonen, "I took note of your U.N. General Assembly speech emphasizing the importance of multinationalism and criticizing the Iraq war for running counter to international law. It is increasingly important to make efforts to defend the international order with the United Nations at the center." Ms Halonen expressed her agreement with Shii. (end) |
