National working women's meeting held in Nagano


The annual National Meeting of Working Women calling for women's equality in the workplace and peace was held on November 20 and 21 in Nagano in central Japan, attended by about 1,300 workers.

In the keynote report Shibata Masako, secretary general of the Organizing Committee, stressed the fact that a majority of part-time and other contingent workers are women and emphasized that the task now is to increase the movement for equal treatment of women in employment. (end)
