JCP branches take to the streets to collect money for Pakistani quake victims In response to the call of the Japanese Communist Party Central Committee for donations to victims of the earthquake that hit Pakistan on October 8, JCP branches throughout Japan are taking to the streets to collect money for the relief effort. Members of the JCP Aichi Prefectural Committee led by former House of Councilors member Hatta Hiroko on October 15 braved a heavy rain in downtown Nagoya to call on passers-by to donate money for the quake victims. Similar activities were held on the same day throughout Japan, including in Tokyo, Hokkaido, and Saitama prefectures. -- Akahata, October 16, 2005 |
