JCP vice-chair talks with Greek embassy official Japanese Communist Party Vice-Chair Ogata Yasuo (JCP International Bureau head) on February 16 visited the Greek Embassy in Tokyo to thank First Counsellor of the Greek Embassy Polyxeni Petropoulou for attending the JCP 24th Congress held in January. Ms. Petropoulou said that the JCP Congress provided her with an opportunity to listen to the JCP analysis of situations both at home and abroad, and that it will be good for the party to continue inviting diplomats to future JCP congresses. When Ogata referred to the progress of establishing communities of nations for peace in the world, Ms. Petropoulou spoke on the European Union and the Balkans development while emphasizing that prosperity, stability, and security will come from the progress of community. The two also exchanged opinions on Japan-China relations and Japan-EU relations with subjects extending to differences in the political climate and culture between Japan and Europe as well as the history of democracy in Greece. - Akahata, February 17, 2006 |
