Ogata meets with Qatari envoy Japanese Communist Party Vice-Chair Ogata Yasuo visited the Qatari embassy in Tokyo on February 20 and met with Minister Khalid Mohamed Al-Baker. Ogata thanked Al-Baker for the attendance of a Qatari embassy academic researcher at the JCP Congress held in January. The Minister said that Ogata's visit to Qatar shortly before the Iraq War in 2003 was very significant. Ogata said that it was important that after his visit to Qatar he had more discussions with Qatari officials when as a guest he took part in the summit meetings of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Countries. - Akahata, February 21, 2006 |
