Nurses call for more staffing In Tokyo, nurses in uniform took Tokyo's loop line train on March 4 to call for public support to their demand that the staffing level for nurses be increased and that the medical "reform" bill withdrawn. Participants got off at several stations to collect signatures in support of their demands. The Nurses' Struggle Committee of the Tokyo Federation of Medical Workers Unions called for the day's action. Its demand for better working conditions include improving the standards for staffing and limiting the number of night shift duties to eight times a month. - Akahata. March 4, 2006 |
