JCP Vice Chair Ogata attends dinner for Venezuelan delegation

Venezuelan Ambassador Seiko Ishikawa held a dinner on April 11 at the Venezuelan embassy in Tokyo for the Venezuelan International Solidarity Committee (COSI) delegation visiting Japan at the invitation of the Japan Asia Africa Latin America Solidarity Committee (AALA).

The two COSI representatives, Felipe Neri Figueroa and Yohni Ramon Nino Villarroel, spoke in rallies and various events held in 17 prefectures in Japan in solidarity with Venezuela, with a total of 5,400 people attending.

Japan AALA Director General Akiniwa Toshio thanked the delegation for its great contribution to promoting friendship and solidarity between the Japanese and Venezuelan peoples. Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo expressed his conviction that their visit to Japan will help the JCP and Japanese progressives promote solidarity with the Venezuelan government and people.

Figueroa and Nino stated that they were deeply impressed by the warm reception by the Japanese.

Referring to the talks between the Yamagata Prefectural governor and the Venezuelan delegation in which he joined, Ambassador Ishikawa thanked the Japan AALA for providing the delegation with the opportunity to inform Japanese people of the reality of the Venezuelan Revolution.

On April 10, about 500 citizens took part in the delegation's final exchange rally held in Tokyo.
