JCP sends telegram of sympathy to Indonesian president Japanese Communist Party Executive Committee Chair Shii Kazuo on May 29 sent President of Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono the following telegram of sympathy for the substantial damage caused by an earthquake that hit Java: "We are saddened to learn that a large-scale earthquake claimed many lives and caused considerable damage in Jogjakarta and central Java. On behalf of the Japanese Communist Party I offer my heartfelt sympathies to the government and people of Indonesia. I wish that people in the quake hit area receive relief and will recover as soon as possible." - Akahata, May 30, 2006 |
