Japan-China summit talks held Prime Minister Abe Shinzo on October 8 held talks in Beijing with Chinese President Hu Jintao. He also met with Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and Standing Committee of the National People'sCongress chairman Wu Bangguo separately. Both sides in these talks agreed to improve Japan-China relations that have worsened due to the Yasukuni Shrine issue, further develop friendship and cooperation, and work to build a mutually beneficial relationship between Japan and China based on common strategic interests. - Akahata, October 9, 2006 |
