Shii to visit Vietnam At the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo will visit Vietnam on December 16-19 and hold talks with the CPV leadership. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of Doi Moi (renovation) by the CPV as a policy line to build its nation advancing toward socialism as well as the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the close relations between the JCP and the CPV that began with the visit of the JCP delegation to Vietnam in February 1966. This is the first time in seven years that a JCP delegation will officially visit Vietnam since Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo visited the country in September 1999. The delegation will be composed of JCP Chair and House of Representatives member Shii Kazuo (Delegation Head), Vice Chair and House of Councilors member Ogata Yasuo (Vice Head), Executive Committee member and International Bureau Deputy Director Morihara Kimitoshi, Executive Committee member and JCP Social Sciences Institute Vice Director Yamaguchi Tomio, and Central Committee member, International Bureau Deputy Director and House of Representatives member Kasai Akira. - Akahata, November 25, 2006 |
