Shii meets with Lao Ambassador Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on February 27 met with Lao Ambassador to Japan Sithong Chitnhothinh at the JCP head office in Tokyo. The ambassador handed Shii a New Year's message from Lao President and Lao People's Revolutionary Party General Secretary Choummaly Sayasone. Thanking him for the message, Shii asked the ambassador to convey his greetings to the president. Recalling the relationship of solidarity between the JCP and the LPRP that has been continued since the U.S. war of aggression against the three Indochinese nations, Shii stated that he is pleased at the development of relations between the two parties, and expressed his gratitude for the Lao President's message sent to the World Conference against A & H Bombs every year. Shii expressed his hope to further develop the relations of friendship and solidarity. The ambassador spoke about the outcome of the economic reform that Laos has undertaken in the past twenty years and the "socialist-oriented market economy" policy line. The JCP Chair and the ambassador exchanged views on the relations of the two countries in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. - Akahata, February 28, 2007 |
