JCP-CPV theoretical exchange meeting begins
Talks to exchange views on theoretical issues between delegations of the Japanese Communist Party and the Communist party of Vietnam began on November 19 at the JCP headquarters in Tokyo.
JCP delegation head Fuwa Tetsuzo, who is the JCP Social Sciences Institute director and Standing Executive Committee member, welcomed the CPV delegation, saying, gAlthough the JCP has had many talks with the CPV in Tokyo and Hanoi, this is the first time to hold talks devoted to theoretical exchanges.h
In reply, CPV delegation head To Huy Rua, who is the CPV Central Committee Theory Council chair, CC Secretary, and Central Propaganda and Education Affairs Commission chair, expressed high expectations for the talks, saying, gThe CPV attaches importance to the theoretical exchanges between the two parties that mark a new stage in our bilateral relationship.h
Referring to the longstanding friendly relations between the two parties, Rua said that he knew that Fuwa held talks with successive CVP leaders, including the late President Ho Chi Minh.
In advance of the talks, the CPV sent to the JCP a questionnaire consisting of 12 questions.
In the first day of talks on November 19, the JCP presented its views in reply to the CPV questions, including an evaluation of Karl Marxfs theory of scientific socialism from the viewpoint of the present-day world, views on the present-day world, trends in and the true nature of capitalism at present, whether the concept of value and exploitation has changed, and theoretical questions about socialism and communism.
Both sides exchanged frank opinions.
From the CPV, attending the talks were Hoang Chi Bao (Theory Council member), Doan Ngoc Canh (China and North East Asia Bureau chief, External Relations Commission), Dinh Xuan Dung (Bureau chief, Propaganda and Education Affairs Commission), Pham Van Linh (International Relations Bureau chief, Propaganda and Education Affairs Commission), Bui The Duc (Propaganda Bureau chief, Propaganda and Education Affairs Commission), and Ngo Huy Duc (Political Science Institute vice head, Ho Chi Minh National Politics Institute).
The JCP delegation included Ogata Yasuo (vice chair, International Bureau director), Hiroi Nobuko (Study and Education Bureau director), Morihara Kimitoshi (International Bureau deputy director); and Yamaguchi Tomio (Social Sciences Institute vice director).
